This year seems exciting for cosplayers, as there will hopefully be more cosplay events in Malaysia for 2023, with several being organised around the main cities of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling, while other cities like Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Penang will also be active.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic stopped all events for two years, many cosplayers have patiently waited for a massive event to occur. In December 2022, Comic Fiesta made an explosive comeback at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with thousands of fans and visitors turning up.

Make sure you guys check out to confirm the dates & venue of events listed here before going. I went all the way to Setapak Central on 17th July only to find that the event was held last year. At first I thought it was my bad for not double checking as it was listed as Anifest by Anicom only (year not listed), but when I saw Nihon Matsuri 2023 will be held from 27 – 31 July I thought of going. How irresponsible! to just post it by changing the year etc & push the responsibility to others by saying that you were not updated about the change of dates & venue.
Hello, thanks for highlighting this and I will do my best to update what I can. As the provider of the information, I was asked by someone to help post this info for the Cosplay events; therefore, I only posted what I could. So, it was again, clearly stated that those interested should go and check the FB or website for the specific event. The problem nowadays is no one reads anymore, and everyone assumes everything.

If you are a cosplay organiser with a new event, please contact me here, and I will list your event in this master list. You can either post in the comment section or use the contact form. Thank you. Remember, this cosplay events list takes a lot of info from last year’s events, and some of the dates or locations may not be the same. So if you know the new dates or location, please share it with me here; thank you.”
Again, as I said, people want everything easy, lazy to read, then blame others for their lack of understanding. It’s easy to point fingers at others but themselves. If I did not mention as above, then I will accept my mistake and apologise, but I had already put the statement there.
Why listed in 2023 but checked the link it is in 2022?? quite a few links too..

Actually, most of the events in this list are from last year, again, you need to check from the respective Facebook pages or look up the organisers to get this year’s dates. Some of the organisers contacted me to update, while many did not. Hence I mentioned that this list is for everyone’s reference. 🙂 I’ll update what I can.
