Penang Hill Festival 2022
After a two year hiatus, the Penang Hill Festival 2022 (PHF2022) is back for its third edition and is held at the iconic Penang Hill.
PHF2022 aims to promote and bring about better awareness of Penang Hill’s nature, history and cultural heritage.
This is also the inaugural year celebrating the festival as the Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve under the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme.
Penang Hill Festival 2022
The Penang Hill Festival will be held from Aug 5 to 7, and its theme is the signature ‘Music on the Hill’ event – East Meets West – which is back by popular demand.
There will be a series of events that will take place over the three days with performances by local artists, heritage walks, night exploration, photo competitions and many more.
This event is suitable for all walks of life and perfect for families with young children; even if you are a local, there is a lot you can learn here.
Activities at Penang Hill Festival 2022
Music Performances – There will be performances by the esteemed Tonal Alchemy featuring Ray Rozells, Milky Way Chinese Orchestra and Wak Long Music and Art Centre, complemented by the natural orchestra sung by the “inhabitants” of Penang Hill.
Heritage and Nature Discovery Walks – The organisers will arrange interesting talks and walks sessions for visitors to explore the hill with knowledgeable guides.
Night Exploration – A jointly organised night walk by NatureWalks@PenangHill and The Habitat Penang Hill.
Penang Hill Photo Exhibition – An event that will bring back fond memories of the old and showcase old photographs of Penang Hill, some of them dating back as far as the 1800s during the British colonial times.
Penang Hill Festival Photography Contest 2022 – A photo contest themed “Pesona Penang Hill”, where contestants stand a chance to win attractive prizes.
Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve Showcase – Information on what it entails since its accreditation last year during the Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve Panel Session.
