Matta Fair March 2023 will be held at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) this year from March 17 to 19. This is also the first time the travel fair will be held at the new venue after so many years at PWTC.
Malaysia’s largest travel fair has also been branded as the fun travel fair paired with food and beverages and cultural and art shows, and this time around, the 52nd MATTA Fair is expected to draw 250,000 visitors and RM400mil in sales.
Matta Fair March 2023
The Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) said that the larger venue at MITEC will create a more spacious atmosphere for people to enjoy while deciding on their travel plans for Malaysia’s largest consumer travel fair.
The main reason they had to switch venues from the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) was a shortage of space after the closure of Halls 1 and 2 at the World Trade Centre (WTC, formally known as Putra World Trade Centre or PWTC).
MATTA Fair March 2023 General Information
This time, the travel fair will be held on three levels at MITEC, while 1,313 booths will be taken up for the event. This is considered a large number, especially when travel restrictions have been lifted worldwide. The fair will also occupy the entire facility, which includes all three exhibition floors, and will take up more than 37,000 sq m (398,264 sq ft) of space at MITEC.
When you arrive at the travel fair, there will be signage showing which halls are for domestic and international tourism. There will also be a main stage area for performances by various tourism boards. For food and beverage, there will be an allocated section where visitors can buy food and drinks and sit down to eat or take a break from all that walking.

- Halls 6 to 8 (Level 2)
- Halls 9 to 11 (level 3)

Shuttle and Parking at Matta Fair MITEC
The organisers have announced that shuttle services will be provided at designated pick-up/drop-off points within MITEC near Hentian Putra, KL High Court, Masjid Wilayah, Miti and Matrade. There will also be a shuttle service from Sunway Putra Mall for those who prefer to park at the mall and take the shuttle to the travel fair at MITEC.
Where is MATTA Fair at MITEC?
The Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre, or MITEC, is about five minutes’ drive from the Putra World Trade Centre or PWTC. It is easily accessible by car and is not too far from the main city centre.
The only setback is that there is no train station at MITEC; therefore, those taking the STAR LRT train can get off at the World Trade Centre and take the Matta Fair Shuttle Bus to MITEC. Below is the location map for MITEC.
