Loongair Flights from Kuala Lumpur to Hangzhou

A new Chinese airline has become the latest to have Kuala Lumpur as one of its destinations through a direct flight via Hangzhou, China, to KLIA 2 in Sepang, Malaysia.

Loongair is exploring its international route map and has launched a new direct route from Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, to Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 with its inaugural flight on 1 Feb 2024.

The maiden flight was also in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive establishment of strategic partnership between China and Malaysia and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

A statement issued by the airline mentioned that the inaugural ceremony was held at the two airports on the same day of the flight. The new route actively implements China’s Belt and Road Initiative and helps build an air bridge between China and Malaysia.

The airline also said that the interests and cultural connections between China and Malaysia are intertwined, and under the Belt and Road Initiative framework, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is becoming increasingly close.

Loongair will operate three weekly trips; the flight would take about five hours from Hangzhou to arrive in Malaysia. The maiden flight not only has a special interior decoration themed as ‘poetic Jiangnan and dynamic Zhejiang’ and with unique cultural elements of Malaysia to demonstrate the charm of the two cities but also prepares a delicate gift for each passenger for the Spring Festival of the Dragon’s Year.

Loongair has also launched “student benefits” products on its international and regional routes to meet the needs of international students from China and Malaysia. Passengers who purchase “student benefits” products will receive an additional piece of free checked baggage compared to regular passengers.

The Chinese airline has also launched small group products with discounts as low as 8% off for two people forming groups. “From the aspects of products, services and routes, it comprehensively helps passengers travel smoothly and celebrate a safe and happy Chinese New Year,” the airline added.
