Thai AirAsia is set to enhance its international network with a new route connecting Thailand, Hong Kong, and Japan. In the late second quarter of 2025, the airline plans to launch a new service linking Bangkok Don Mueang (DMK), Hong Kong (HKG), and Okinawa (OKA).

This new triangular route is part of Thai AirAsia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in Asia-Pacific and offer more travel options for leisure and business travellers.

According to recently filed operational details, the new route will commence on June 1, 2025, and will be operated daily using Airbus A320 aircraft. The schedule for the new route is as follows:

  • Flight FD518 will depart Bangkok Don Mueang at 08:10, arrive in Hong Kong at noon, then continue from Hong Kong at 12:55, arriving in Okinawa at 16:25.
  • Flight FD519 will depart Okinawa at 17:45, arrive in Hong Kong at 19:20, and then depart Hong Kong at 20:20, returning to Bangkok Don Mueang at 22:15.

This marks the introduction of Thai AirAsia’s first connection between Hong Kong and Japan, allowing passengers traveling from Thailand to Okinawa to transit through Hong Kong. Despite the addition of this new routing, the overall level of service between Bangkok and Hong Kong will remain at two daily flights, though a slightly revised schedule will also be effective from June 1, 2025.

Conclusion

Reservations for this new route are expected to open soon, providing travelers with more flexibility and new travel combinations across East and Southeast Asia. Please visit the official AirAsia site for more information about when the Thai AirAsia Okinawa flights will launch after June 2025.
