Nepal Airlines flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via KLIA1 will commence from May 2023 and will operate its commercial flights at the Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) in Kathmandu.

Jagnnath Niroula, the spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), said that NAC had been allocated two weekly flight slots during the international summer schedule at GBIA, effective from March 26 to October 28.

Nepal Airlines Flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The national flag carrier will conduct the flights in the Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu route with a 157-passenger capacity Airbus A320 narrow body for the summer schedule. Two weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur to Bhairahawa will be scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays.

A spokesperson has also mentioned that special packages will be arranged to attract more Buddhist pilgrims to visit Lumbini after the start of the Nepal Airlines flight service connecting Lumbini, the birthplace of the world-famous Gautama Buddha in Nepal.

Currently, Nepal Airlines connects Kathmandu with Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Dubai, Riyadh, Narita and three cities in India—Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. And for the record, Himalaya Airlines has been operating regular chartered flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from Gautam Buddha International Airport since November 3, 2022.
