Captain Du GuoFu, who is Air Macau’s Vice President of flight operations, said the resumption of the Macau – Kuala Lumpur flight after two decades marks a renewed connection between the two major cities.

“Having flown to Kuala Lumpur previously, Air Macau is thrilled to strengthen ties with this vibrant city. This achievement is a collective effort. It’s made possible with the support of the Malaysian aviation industry authority, the airport management company, Tourism Malaysia, the Macau SAR Government and various organisations.”

Captain Du also said that Air Macau is open to flying to other domestic airports in Malaysia and increasing its flight frequency to daily flights. Air Macau operates four times weekly flights on its Airbus A320 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Macau International Airport to KLIA Terminal 1.

Air Macau is a full-service airline in Macau with a narrow-body fleet of Airbus A320 and A2321. The carrier is one of the subsidiary airlines of Air China, including Shenzhen Airlines, Shangdong Airlines, Dalian Air, Inner Mongolia Airlines and Beijing Airlines.

Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar, who was at the arrival event, said the agency targets 24 million international arrivals in 2024 from 19 million last year. Ammar also said Tourism Malaysia is discussing with other foreign carriers to fly to Kuala Lumpur and other domestic airports to introduce new routes, increase flight frequencies and have more charter flights.

Air Macau has also appointed Pacific World Travel Sdn Bhd (PWT) as its dedicated general sales agent (GSA) in Malaysia. PWT Group President Tunku Dato Seri Dr Iskandar Tunku Abdullah said the strategic partnership with the company solidifies Air Macau’s commitment to providing unparalleled travel experiences and seamless connectivity for Malaysian travellers flying to Macau.
