Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2026

The wait is officially over for anyone who loves anime, manga, and gaming in Western Japan. The Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2026—affectionately known to fans as KyoMaf 2026—has locked in its dates and details for what promises to be a spectacular autumn weekend. This year is particularly special as the convention celebrates its 15th anniversary, and the organisers are pulling out all the stops with a brilliant ambassador line-up and an exclusive commemorative visual to mark a decade and a half of pop culture celebrations.

First launched in 2012, KyoMaf was created to give the Kansai region its own premier event, regularly standing as the definitive answer toTokyo’ss massive AnimeJapan. Thisyear’ss 15th-anniversary edition is leaning heavily into its unique identity, bridging modern subcultures withKyoto’ss historic traditional crafts. The newly unveiled main visual for 2026 captures this perfectly, featuring local public relations characters Tsukasa Kyono and Moe Uzumasa in a vibrant, festive design illustrated by Kosei Memori, the recent grand prize winner of the KyoMaf Creators Contest.

The star power behind the event has also stepped up a gear with the appointment of the official Okoshiyasu (Welcome) Ambassadors. Voice acting royalty Yuki Kaji—universally recognised as the voice behind Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan and Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia—returns to the role for the first time in eight years. Joining him is the incredibly versatile Sumire Uesaka, famous for voicing characters like Sanae Dekomori in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! and Lum in the modern revival of Urusei Yatsura.

Uesaka also brings plenty of crossover buzz to the fair following her recent, headline-grabbing stint as the Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion at Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling. Corporate booth applications and stage event bookings have already kicked off, meaning theindustry’ss biggest studios are currently locking in their major reveals.
