Malaysia Huawei Mate 50 Pro Review

It’s been a great year for smartphones with so many technological improvements, and this time, I’m sharing my Huawei Mate 50 Pro Macro Camera review in Malaysia.

If you did not already know, the Mate 50 Pro is Huawei’s flagship smartphone and will be launched in early November in Malaysia. Therefore, I had the opportunity to test the Mate 50 Pro before the launch.

First, there are some significant improvements in the Huawei Mate 50 Pro camera system. The main feature is the Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera which allows users to explore the aperture world of photography.

To me, the camera system is my priority, and if you want to know more about everything else, please see this article on the Huawei Mate 50 Pro specifications. You should be happy to know that the camera supports up to 8192 × 6144 pixels for fans of large image sizes.

The overall camera system is also bonkers with;

  • 50 MP Ultra Aperture Camera (F1.4~F4.0 aperture, OIS)
  • 13 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera (F2.2 aperture)
  • 64 MP Telephoto Camera (F3.5 aperture, OIS)

And in the selection mode of the camera, you can choose from Night, Super Macro, Macro, AI Cinemagraph, Story Creator, Audio Zoom, High-res, Time-Lapse, Ultra Wide Angle Lens, Aperture, Dual-View Video, Portrait, Pro, Slow-Mo, Panorama, Monochrome, Light painting, Filter, Stickers, Documents, Master AI, Moving Picture, Snapshot, 4D Predictive Focus, Capture Smiles, Audio Control, Timer, and Burst Shooting.

So much action I hardly use many of the modes, as most of the time, I just got for the simple smartphone photography. After all, most users are just everyday ordinary users; not everyone is a camera geek or professional.

You can also read my other article about the Huawei Mate 50 Pro review in Malaysia, where I used the Orange coloured unit with the Kunlun Glass during a trip to Sandakan in Sabah.

But for this article, I will share my experience using the macro and super macro modes on the Mate 50, where I have always been intrigued with macro photography. I have done macro on my DSLR and Mirrorless, but using a smartphone is a new game.

So, without any more drama, let us get into the results of the photos. Please note that all the images you see here are not edited in any way except for putting my watermark in the pictures. You see the original photos taken from the Huawei Mate 50 Pro.

The actual hot of the flower is about 3mm wide. I tried to go closer, but it would not focus.

There you go, some fantastic macro and super macro photos from the Huawei Mate 50 Pro were taken at Kiara Park in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, KL, on 14th October 2022. I will be exploring Sabah in a week; therefore, you can expect to see more photos when I get back end of the month.

And if you would like to know what I have been busy with, you can also check out my smartphone reviews in Malaysia, and my style is a very user-to-user experience. I’m not too fond of all that big technical words in reviews, as every other review website does the same thing.

For more information on the new flagship smartphone, please visit the official Huawei website in Malaysia. Once the Mate 50 Pro is announced, it will be featured there. Meanwhile, keep a look out on my Facebook Page as I will share more photos and videos of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro.
