I know many Malaysians in the Klang Valley who are quite excited about the coming Matta Fair April 2022, held at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Since Malaysia moved into the endemic stage of Covid 19 on April 1, many have shown interest in travelling out of the country after a long two year hiatus.
In this article, I will highlight some of the deals and promotions offered at the Matta Fair April 2022.
Matta Fair April 2022 Promotions
For Matta Fair April 2022, visitors should note that the travel fair is free admission for everyone and is held for two days from 9 to April 10 at the WTC in KL, the former PWTC.
There will always be favourites or sponsors based on several categories, and to start, we will go with the favourite Malaysian state.
Matta Fair April 2022 Malaysia Favourite Destination – Sarawak
The Sarawak state government will be the partner and favourite Malaysian state for this Matta Fair April 2022 and will highlight some of the most beautiful and exciting places, food and cultures.
A total of 21 booths will be dedicated to promoting Sarawak for sustainable and consistent domestic and international tourism growth, with plenty of attractive tour and travel packages on offer.
As you should also know, Sarawak marks the third time as Malaysia’s Favourite Destination for the MATTA Fair; as was in MATTA Fair September 2017 and MATTA Fair September 2018.
You can find the Sarawak Tourism Board at the Sarawak Pavilion in Hall 4 at WTCKL.
Matta Fair 2022 Favourite Theme Park – Genting SkyWorlds
Genting’s newest theme park, called Genting SkyWorlds, will be the favourite theme park located at the Pahang Tourism section in the local Malaysian Hall during the fair.
Promotions include Genting SkyWorlds tickets that will be sold at a 5 per cent discount, on top of its existing 20 per cent soft opening promotion, which is a whopping 25% total discount. The Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park is also on promotion with a one-day unlimited ride pass available for RM58 per ticket.
On April 10 (Sunday), visitors stand a chance to participate in a lucky draw with every RM200 spent at the Genting booths. Prizes offered are a one-night stay at Crockfords Hotel’s Junior Suite, Genting Skyworlds tickets and limited-edition merchandise.
Matt Fair 2022 Favourite Airline – Malaysia Airlines
Of course, we must have a favourite airline, and this time around, Malaysia Airlines, along with FireFly and MasWings, will be offering up to 45% off airfares to all domestic and selected international destinations within its network, for immediate travel up to November 30, 2022.
Firefly will also be offering enticing discounts of up to 50% off airfares when holiday seekers book via its mobile application or web from April 7 to 10, 2022, for travel beginning April 14 to October 29, 2022.
Visitors to Matta Fair who purchase Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, and MASwings’ flight tickets from any participating agents will also take home limited-edition merchandise from the airlines and Enrich.
Those booking economy flight tickets can also stand a chance to win a Business Class upgrade from Malaysia Airlines with every purchase of an Economy Class ticket.
Matta Fair April Buyers Contest
This is one of the most sought contests during the event, and for this year’s Matta Fair April Buyers Contest, Malaysia Airlines is giving away three Business class return tickets and seven Economy class return tickets to both international and domestic destinations.

The travel fair is free admission this time around, but you need to take care of yourself when you visit. Especially in crowded areas, so please follow the general SOPs when you visit.
