Tourism Malaysia recently launched the special IsninKhamisJak Sabah and Labuan Packages during the Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Roadshow at the shopping centre from 24 to 26 February 2023.

The first of many roadshows was also launched by YB Tuan Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, at the Curve Shopping Mall in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, on 25 February.

IsninKhamisJak Sabah and Labuan Packages

While many may be a little lost about the name IsninKhamisJak, it is a Sabahan term for ‘Lah‘, which is a unique Malaysian slang for almost every ethnicity. So, lah (jak in Sabah) is added to the end of each sentence during casual conversation.

Therefore, this specially curated travel package was branded IsninKhamisJak, translated as Monday to Thursday lah, meaning that the attractive offers are valid for weekday travels to various hotels around Sabah and Labuan FT.

The target is mainly those who prefer to travel during non-peak periods. It also helps hotel and resort operators in Sabah and Labuan to increase their low average occupancy rates from Monday to Thursday.

By doing this, there is a win-win situation for both consumers and the tourism industry, and in total, there are 16 new packages involving the promotion of “Buy 2 Nights Free 1 Night” or “Buy 1 Night Get 1 Night at a Discount” of 50%”.

This special offer is open for purchase by domestic tourists from 24 February to 15 April 2023, and the valid period of stay is until 31 December 2023.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture said that the roadshow is targeting a total sales revenue of RM12 million, compared with last year’s edition, which managed to record RM9.6 million, with a total of 29,198 tour packages sold.
